INSIDE GREETING: There's nothing like a good friend.

You've probably seen this iconic image before, but did you know it's officially titled A Friend In Need (a clever nod to the sneaky bulldog hiding under the table) by the artist Cassius Marcellus Coolidge? Considered by some to be "the most famous American artist you've never heard of," it's better known as part of the famous series Dogs Playing Poker. Originally consisting of 18 paintings with the same theme, the series was commissioned in 1903 by the publishing company Brown & Bigelow to advertise cigars through calendars, posters, and prints. Despite being labeled as kitschy at the time, these paintings quickly gained popularity and have now become an enduring part of pop culture for over a century.
